International Hires and Placements
The GW Tax Department is excited to announce the launch of the International Engagement Request (IER) SharePoint workflow. As we move forward, please note that the current process of submission via email will only be accepted through February 15. Beginning February 16, all IER submissions are to be submitted via the IER SharePoint workflow.
Thank you for your partnership as we continue to enhance our global processes. We’re confident this new tool will make our international engagement management simpler, clearer, and more efficient for everyone involved.
Departments may have the need to engage an individual to perform services outside the U.S. for GW or to place a GW employee on an assignment outside the U.S. International engagements can be complex. The processes outlined in the resources below ensure the appropriate GW offices and individuals are engaged at the onset to help analyze and structure the placement or assignment successfully, where approved. Additional tax, legal, and benefits considerations and costs may apply to such engagements or placements and be borne in some cases by schools, so it is important that Deans, Associate Deans for faculty or the School Research Administrator for sponsored research projects be consulted for their input as outlined in these guidelines.
