Changes in Employment Status

Changes in employment status may qualify you to make changes to your health and welfare benefits.

  • Employees who change from a non-benefits-eligible position to a benefits-eligible position (or vice versa) will have 30 calendar days from their change in status date to enroll in benefits.
  • Employees who transition from a full-time benefits-eligible to part-time benefits-eligible position (or vice versa) will have 30 calendar days from the change in status date to newly enroll or make changes to their current benefit elections.
  • Review your benefit eligibility (PDF) based on your new position status
  • Visit EasyEnroll to review and make changes to your benefits.

Please remember, if you are adding dependents on to your medical/dental/vision plan(s) you will need to submit supporting documentation to benefits within 30 calendar days from your change in status date in order to have your dependent coverage approved.

Effective Date of Change

The coverage effective date for most benefits is the first day of the month following your change in status date.

If your status change date is the first day of the month, the coverage effective date for most benefits is the status change date.
