Take Our Children to Work Day 2026

National Take Our Children to Work Day will take place this year on Thursday, April 23, 2026. This day gives children the opportunity to experience the workplace, learn about different career paths, and see firsthand what their parents or guardians do each day.

The day is recommended for children ages 8 to 18, and HRMD has created a toolkit with an activity guide. This toolkit has checklists, recommendations, and ideas for parents and guardians to plan their day with their children.

Please remember to discuss with your manager or unit leader in advance if you would like to bring your child to work.

Employees who choose to participate in Bring Your Child to Work Day are solely responsible for the supervision, care, and custody of the minor(s) they bring to campus at all times. By participating, employees acknowledge and assume all risks associated with the minor’s presence on campus and in university activities, including any incidents that may occur.
