Employees in this subfamily are responsible for administrative oversight of law enforcement and related safety and security activities, interfacing with other departments and agencies, planning and implementing departmental initiatives, and oversight of reporting and compliance activities.  Employees may also assume command or patrol and response functions of certain types of incidents and events.
