What Do I need to Do?

New Hires

  • Contact HRIS Information Systems (HRIS) when a new employee accepts a position on a federal contract.

  • Provide appropriate I-9 information to HRIS as soon as possible, but no later than the first day of employment.

Transferred Employees

  • Contact HR when a current employee is transferred to a position assigned to a federal contract.

  • Provide appropriate I-9 information if requested by HR as soon as possible, but no later than the first day of work on the contract.

Current Employees assigned to a Federal Contract

  • Verify to HR employees funded by an existing federal contracts.

  • Provide appropriate I-9 information on a timely basis for employees assigned to a federal contract with insufficient documentation to complete the E-Verify process.

Notification Process

  • Notify employee or new hire if Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC) occurs when the worker's information is compared to government records and work authorization could not be immediately confirmed. The employee must be given eight federal government work days to contact the appropriate federal agency to contest the information mismatch. Contact information will be provided by HR.

  • Terminate the employee who is not successful in their appeal of the TNC based on government records.
