GW has finalized a contract transitioning the management of the university’s child care benefit from Children’s Learning Center (CCLC) to Bright Horizons, LLC, which will go into effect September 1, 2016. This transition follows a change to DC law, placing stricter regulations upon the operation of basement-level childcare facilities and forcing GW’s current child care provider to close its K Street location.
- Under this agreement, Bright Horizons on L Street will offer 20 priority spaces for GW families.
- This arrangement will accommodate all current GW families who have requested to transition to Bright Horizons, keeping tuition at the same rates as the current CCLC center at K Street, subject to modest annual increases.
- The arrangement also will provide waitlist spots to additional GW families who have indicated future childcare needs. These families and future GW families will receive a subsidized rate of 20% off the regular tuition for up to 20 spaces.
- Should new families request to get on the waitlist, they may contact Carol Reynolds, Center Director, at 202-887-8433.
Please note that Bright Horizons will be reaching out to GW families within the next few business days. Additional information will be provided as details are made available. In the meantime, please direct any questions related to this change to Brenda Singletary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
