The George Washington University's Personal & Family Life programs and services are an integral part of the University's efforts to help faculty and staff to balance the multiple responsibilities associated with work, academic, and personal life.
Looking for childcare, adult care or a pet sitter? Don’t let everyday problems and stressors stand in your way. Get the confidential support and resources you need to make the most of your life. Your Wellbeing Hotline offers free and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all faculty, staff and their household members.
GW can also assist you when life doesn’t go quite as planned. Contact your Employee Assistance program (Wellbeing Hotline) a no-cost counseling service helps you address stress, relationship, substance and other personal issues you and your family may face. It is staffed by GuidanceConsultants—highly trained master’s and doctoral level clinicians who will listen to your concerns and quickly refer you to in-person counseling and other resources. Faculty, staff and their household members receive up to five free counseling sessions per issue.
GW’s Backup Family Care program through CCLC has been tailored to meet the unique needs of working families when your usual family care arrangements are disrupted. Faculty and staff have up to five days per year of backup care for children, adults, and elders.
